Gulf Engineering Forums

The 10th Gulf Engineering Forum - Saudi Arabia

12 - 13 November 2006

It was under the patronage of HRH Crown Prince Sultan Bin AbdulAziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Aviation and Inspector General, the forum discussed in depth the role of the Saudi Council of Engineers in the enhancement of the engineering profession in the Gulf region and the practical ways it can support practicing engineers.

Gulf Engineering Forum aims to support the participating role of engineer councils in the application and implementation of standards and codes of the practice, along with raising other issues concerning the development and protection of the practice.

This forum with its objectives and topics is a true reflection of the role played by Gulf councils in development and protection of the professional engineering practice. These topics are expected to provoke a matchless interaction not only between engineers, but also public and private sectors, engineering sectors along with professional societies and all engineering services beneficiaries.

Forum's Agenda:
- Relationships between councils and professional societies, public & private sectors, and their role in developing the practice.
- Engineering practice code of ethics.
- Obtaining use of international corporations' practice and experience.
- Education, training & qualification.
- Invention, creativity & excellence.
- Engineering profession and its role in community service.
