Youth Engineers Council Celebrates Engineer's Day

The Youth Engineers Council affiliated to Society of Engineers – UAE (SoE) organized on 15th of September 2020 a celebration of the Engineer's Day. An elegant remote celebration entitled "Emirati Engineer Journey; A Journey of Creativity and Giving" in the presence of Eng. Mohamed Mahmoud Mashroom, SoE's President, Dr. Nahla Ahmed Al Qassimi, Board Member and Head of the Youth Engineers Council of SoE – UAE.

The celebration included a discussion session entitled "Emirati Engineer Journey; A Journey of Creativity and Giving" prepared by Eng. Saleh Al-Marri, Member of the Youth Council and managed by Member of the Youth Council, Eng. Jaber Al-Ahbabi. Eng. Abdel Nasser Al Naqbi, Eng. Ali Al Jayar and Eng. Mariam Ali delivered a speech in the discussion. In addition to an introductory session on the Emirati Engineers Abroad Association presented by Eng. Fatima Al-Mulla and Eng. Noura Al-Marri. During the celebration, the Youth Engineers Council's members were honored in its First and Second Sessions.

Empowering of Youth Engineers

Dr. Nahla Ahmed Al Qassimi highlighted the journey of the Youth Engineers Council since its establishment in 2019, which contributed to the process of empowering youth engineers and developing their capabilities in various disciplines under the umbrella of SoE. The journey of Youth Engineers Council included many projects and achievements, including the organizing a special celebration for the 40th anniversary of SoE-UAE, as well as organizing the Second Youth Engineers Forum, in addition to organizing several workshops and sessions remotely on various engineering disciplines. Dr. Nahla stressed that these achievements were not a coincidence, but rather a product of tireless efforts by the members of the Council during its last session, which reflected their ability to assume responsibility, as they have the culture of giving and achievement.

At the end of her speech, Dr. Nahla announced opening registration for membership of Youth Engineers Council in its new session.

Real Addition

Eng. Mohamed Mashroom expressed his happiness with the participation and admiration of various sessions of the celebration that reflected the awareness of the youth engineers and their success in facing today's challenges and requirements. Eng Mashroom referred to keenness of the Board of Directors to provide best practices and promote the engineering work system in various disciplines by organizing workshops and exchanging visions and ideas about the latest orientations and scientific and practical theses. He further pointed out that the formation of the Youth Engineers Council and various engineering associations to work under the umbrella of the Society of Engineers is an addition and confirmation of the anticipated role of the youth engineers in the urban renaissance in the UAE and an activation of its community message. At the end of his speech, Mashroom paid tribute to the efforts of Dr. Nahla Ahmed Al Qassimi and members of the Youth Engineers Council in developing the capabilities of the youth engineers and qualifying them to the labor market.
