Eng. Hessa El-Harmi, SOE – UAE Member of Board of Director and Treasurer, confirmed the active role undertaken by the Arab women engineers in serving society noted the UAE women engineers' efforts in progress and development of the State. The UAE woman engineer is a key part in accelerating development due to the unlimited support by the Wise Leadership as well as her presence at all levels. Further, she indicated that the UAE woman engineer has become an outstanding example in the Arab World.

Indicated during participation by her and Eng. Mariam Al-Amrany, as representatives of SOE –UAE, in the meetings of the Arab Women Engineers Committee of the Federation of Arab Engineers recently held on October 6 at Jordan Engineers Association in Amman. The meetings have been attended by Eng. Ahmed Samara Al Zu'bi, President of Jordan Engineers Association, Eng. Mohammed Abu Afifa, Association's Secretary General, and Eng. Hanan Badi Awwad, Head of Arab Women Engineers Committee. Moreover, women engineers from Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Libya, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates and Iraq attended the meetings.

For his part, Eng. Ahmed Samara Al Zu'bi welcomed the participating delegates commending the efforts made by the Arab Women Engineers Committee to upgrade the engineering profession. He also emphasized that the Association is keen on creating closer relationships with the Arab Associations and Societies to exchange experience and knowledge, which would ensure the development for the profession and provide the engineers with unique skills.

Eng. Hessa indicated that the meeting addressed the plan of preparatory work for the fifth Forum of Arab Women Engineers intended to be held in Lebanon on 3 March 2020 simultaneously with the celebration of the Arab Woman Engineer Day.

On a related level, the Delegate of the SOE – UAE participated in the First Leaders Forum organized by the Female Engineers Committee at the Ajloun Forest Reserve on the sidelines of the Arab Women Engineers Committee meetings.
