Sulaiman Al Hajri commends the decision to involve youth in governmental authorities councils

Eng. Sulaiman Al Hajri, Secretary of SOE - UAE, the UAE Cabinet decision recently issued to involve and strengthen the UAE youth involvement in governmental authorities, institutions and companies to convey the youth’s voice, proposals and engaging them in governmental work development. 

The decision is within the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and the Ruler of Dubai “May Allah protect Him,” to empower and enable them based upon future sustainable basis, and His confidence in the youth’s ability, ideas and talents to take the lead, draw new forms and aspects of work in different sectors, which would serve the aspirations of our wise leadership and achieve development.

Secretary of SOE - UAE also confirmed that the decision approval is no stranger to our Wise Leadership, as it is within Their great support and interest of utilizing the youth potentials. Such principle is derived from the heritage and approach of the Founding Father and the founder of renaissance the Late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, May he rest in peace, who said: " We are waiting for more from the young people, wishing they would contribute to making huge achievements, which will turn this country into a developed country, to be one on par with the advanced nations.”  

The decision provided for compulsory engagement of UAE youth members in Boards of Directors of governmental authorities, institutions and companies, at least one member who shall not exceed 30 years old. In addition, the decision committed the authorities to elect an illustrious group of youth and creative ones to participate in such Boards of Directors as members and submit memorandums of such nominations to the UAE Cabinet for approval and taking the necessary actions.

Eng. Sulaiman Al-Hajri hoped that the authorities and institutions of the UAE Private Sector would do the same to complete and strengthen the sustainable development goals, as youth are the present one half and all the future. AL Hajri indicated that the SOE- UAE pays attention to youth, citing the establishment of Youth Engineers Council. Al Hajri also indicated that SOE - UAE communicate continuously with youth engineers, particularly fresh graduates, as SOE - UAE serve as the link between youth and governmental institutions and authorities in general, to enhance the UAE engineering sector.
