Dear Colleagues and Fellow Engineers,
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you
This Issue of World of Engineering Magazine is at the outset of 2020 the year branded "Towards the Next
50" and preparing for the UAE's Golden Jubilee celebrations of 2021.
"2020: Towards the Next 50" is a new platform for boosting investment of manpower and national cadres,
a cornerstone for achieving comprehensive development within UAE, and an important step towards
increasing the spirit of competition in all sectors of the UAE. This year reflects our wise leadership's
vision of working for the UAE and welfare of the people of UAE, prospecting the future in every detail, by
qualifying and developing the capabilities of the human cadres in line with the requirements of the future.
Society of Engineers UAE spares no effort to transform these visions into reality and to be part of
that national strategy aimed at enhancing UAE's regional and global position, by always providing the
UAE's engineering sector with the best. This is translated through Board of Directors' periodic meetings,
discussing and addressing issues concerning engineers and the progress of engineering work within UAE
with the aim of upgrading the services provided, in line with the best engineering practices, and keeping
pace with the requirements and challenges of the engineering sector including artificial intelligence... etc.
Fellow engineers; this year, "2020: Towards the Next 50", comes in conjunction with our celebration of
Society of Engineers' 40th anniversary, and the organization of Youth Engineers Forum, 2nd Edition,
on last February. At the same time, our beloved nation, under the wise leadership, is confidently and
steadily moving forward towards achieving its aspirations to become a pioneering global model through
which the concept of sustainable development is embodied, for ensuring a better future for the upcoming
generations.
On this occasion, we, the Board of Directors, are pleased to convoy our compliments and good wishes
to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance,
the main supporter of the Society of Engineers UAE, for his growing interest and continued support
to SOE since its establishment, which empowered SOE to reach that prestigious position among its
counterparts within the Gulf, Arab countries and worldwide.
As the Board of Directors, we renew our promise to move forward to uphold the Society of Engineers and
continue the progress initiated by our fellows in the previous boards, in order to serve the engineering
sector within the UAE, and keep pace with its modern requirements.
Last, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to my fellows, the members of the Board of Directors, and
the preparatory committees for their tireless efforts in the success of 40th anniversary celebrations for
the establishment of the SOE.
Only Allah leads to prosperity
