The UAE Society of Engineers is organizing the First UAE Project Management Conference for Mastering Project and Risk Management in Mega Projects. The conference will take place at the Intercontinental Festival City Dubai, between May 25 and 27, 2015, and is expected to attract a wide international participation from leading experts in the sector. Commenting on this, His Excellency Engineer Essa Al Maidoor, Director General of Dubai Health Authority, Chairman of the Society of Engineers, highlighted that Megaprojects in the UAE has contributed to a new wave of real estate developments, supported by the wise vision of the UAE leadership, which focuses on building capabilities and implementing the highest standards in quality and innovation.

H.E. Eng. Essa Al Maidoor, Director General of Dubai Health Authority and President of Society of Engineers stated that GDP continued to rise since year 2012 and expected to be approximately 5.2% by the end of 2014, driven by the growth of tourism, transport and trade growth in Dubai. This confirms the fact the sector plays a pivotal role in support in the local economy.
Al Maidoor added that Dubai witnessed the rapid growth of the economy over the past few years. The launch of several project contributed to the development of Dubai’s reputation and consolidate its leading position globally as it is based on the future vision of His Highness Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. His Highness has been investing huge budgets in vital project in infrastructure, energy, transport, and water and retail industry between 2005 and 2014. The investments worth $175 billion. Dubai is also expected to invest large scaled project worth $120 billion for the preparation of Expo 2020.
